Hydrogen-Barrier Coating
Arculus’ multi-layer coating creates a hydrogen barrier, protecting substrates (e.g. hard steels) from hydrogen embrittlement and stress-induced cracking.
With its multilayer composite structure, Arculus’s coating has the following advantages:
The metal interlayer ensures physical and mechanical compatibility with the underlying metal.
The formation of extended space-charge zones at the oxide/metal interface repels hydrogen.
